Welcome!

The Parent-Teacher-Student Organization exists to support the teachers, staff and students. It is a great way to be involved in your school's achievements. Our students' accomplishments continue to grow each year along with the dedicated efforts of the faculty, staff and parent involvement. PTSO hopes to remain a key support to the success of our students.

Meetings School Year 2018-2019 dates.

Our monthly meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM in the Harvey Conference Room in the Haddix Center.  Due to Spring break the March meeting will be held the 3rd Tuesday of the month.

PTSO Committee Information

Post Prom – PTSO plans and provides the After Prom party. This is a fun way to provide your student with a safe activity after Prom. We need lots of volunteers all through the year and for the event! Post Prom will be Saturday, March 30th, 2019.

 

Banquets - Cindy Craig cindycrrt@cox.net is the chair. PTSO provides the table centerpieces, candy and our volunteers serve drinks at the three banquets during the school year.

 

Concessions (Two committees, one for football and one for basketball) - PTSO provides the food, drinks, and workers at all home football and basketball games.

Football Concessions Committee Chair– The Executive Board is heading this up. Contact Nickie wnlandis@cox.net if you would like to volunteer to help at football concessions. Season lasts August – November

Basketball Concessions Committee Chair–James Taylor jamesalajah.jt@gmail.com is the chair.

Funding –  Jennifer Orf jorf@cox.net is the chair. The PTSO provides small funding grants for teachers, coaches, and student organizations that have applied and presented their proposal to the PTSO funding committee. This committee is comprised of both parents and North staff. Applications for funding requests are due in the PTSO mailbox by the date on the application. Presentations are made the following day. Funding requests outside of this process will not be considered due to applicant volume and budget restrictions. Information about joining this committee will be shared at PTSO meetings each semester.

 

Homecoming-Michelle Kaczmarek chellekazz@gmail.com is the chair. We will be building a float for the Homecoming Parade, on October 5th. Also looking for those interested in walking the parade route.

 

Honors Night –PTSO provides refreshments. Our volunteers serve drinks and dessert in the Viking Center.

 

Membership – Tiffanie McCowin tru_bap@hotmail.com and Kaylene Reiger Quinsmom03@yahoo.com are the chairs. Volunteers help sign-up members at the Freshman Orientation, Open House and the first Parent/Teacher Conference.

 

PTSO Scholarship – Chris Edelbrock  cedelbrock@cox.net is the chair. A committee of 3 – 5 members selects qualified seniors in the spring to receive scholarships. One of the eligibility requirements for this scholarship this scholarship is that the student or family member must be a PTSO member for their Junior and Senior years.  Applications are available in the Guidance Resource Center.

Teacher/Staff Appreciation – Tricia Saxton saxtontandj@msn.com is the chair. The PTSO provides 2-3 “Thank You” events for over 150 Teachers, Counselors and Support Staff.   Many volunteers are needed to make these events successful including providing food, drinks, and baked goods.  Typically 4 – 6 volunteers are needed to set up the night before and 4 – 10 volunteers are needed to help serve and clean up after each event.
