Welcome!

The Parent-Teacher-Student Organization exists to support the teachers, staff and students. It is a great way to be involved in your school's achievements. Our students' accomplishments continue to grow each year along with the dedicated efforts of the faculty, staff and parent involvement. PTSO hopes to remain a key support to the success of our students.

Meetings School Year 2016-2017 dates.

Our monthly meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM in the Principal's Conference Room. Due to Spring break the March meeting will be held the 3rd Tuesday of the month.  "All meeting times and dates are subject to change and will be posted as soon as possible."

PTSO Committee Information

Post Prom - PTSO plans and provides the After Prom party. This is a fun way to provide your student with a safe activity after Prom.  We need lots of volunteers all through the year and for the event!  Post Prom will be Saturday, April 22nd, 2017.

Athletic Banquets - PTSO provides the table centerpiece, candy and our volunteers serve drinks at the three banquets during the school year.  Cindy Craig cindycrrt@cox.net is the chair. 

Concessions (Two committees, one for football and one for basketball) - PTSO provides the food, drinks, and workers at all home football and basketball games.

Funding – Nickie Landis wnlandis@cox.net is the chair. The PTSO provides small funding grants for teachers, coaches, and student organizations that have applied and presented their proposal to the PTSO funding committee. This committee is comprised of both parents and North staff. Applications for funding requests are due in the PTSO mailbox by the date on the application. Presentations are made the following day. Funding requests outside of this process will not be considered due to applicant volume and budget restrictions. Information about joining this committee will be shared at PTSO meetings each semester.

Homecoming-Michelle Kaczmarek  chellekazz@gmail.com  is the chair. We will be building a float for the Homecoming Parade, October 21sth, 2016.  Also looking for those interested in walking the parade route.

Honors Night - Trudy Johnson jeffntrudy@msn.com  is the chair. PTSO provides refreshments. Our volunteers serve drinks and dessert in the Viking Center. 

 

Membership - Trudy Johnson jeffntrudy@msn.com  is the chair. Volunteers sign-up members at the Freshman Orientation, Open House and the first Parent/Teacher Conference. 

PTSO Scholarship – Nickie Landis wnlandis@cox.net is the chair. A committee of 3 – 5 members selects qualified Seniors in the spring to receive scholarships.  One of the eligibility requirements for this scholarship is that the student or family member must be a PTSO member for their Junior and Senior years. Applications are available in the Guidance Resource Center

Teacher/Staff  Appreciation – Tricia Saxton saxtontandj@msn.com is the chair. The PTSO provides a “Thank You” breakfast for over 150 Teachers, Counselors and Support Staff.  This event is usually held in March or early April.  4 – 6 volunteers are needed to set up the night before, 8 – 10 volunteers are needed to serve and clean up the next morning.  Many volunteers are needed to provide baked items to make this event successful.  We are looking to add a Fall Appreciation event this year.

 

Baker’s Community Rewards Program

  Shopping at Baker’s can benefit Omaha North High Magnet School PTSO.  If you shop at Baker’s  and have a Baker’s card then sign up for the community rewards program to raise $ for North’s PTSO.  Pick Omaha North High Magnet PTSO and raise money for the PTSO just by shopping at Baker’s!  It does not cost you anything to have a Plus Card. Sign up at www.bakersplus.com   Our first 3 months in the program we had 14 people sign up and made over $300!
